The task is to follow the documents, test competing accounts and put precise questions to those whose decisions affect others—whatever office they hold. The same scrutiny applies to the allegations we receive as to the answers we seek.
The identity is private.
The reporting is accountable.
We do not publish personal identifying details about the people behind this public-facing role. This protects their privacy, source relationships and ability to gather information without the presenter identity preceding them. The work remains accountable through its sources, material responses and corrections.
Daux is a presenter identity, not a separate witness to the events reported. Interviews and first-hand accounts are attributed to the people who conducted or supplied them.
An impressive letterhead is welcome. An answer would be better.
Our purpose
We investigate concerns about the exercise of power by public officials, institutions and companies. We examine documents, hear from those affected, put precise questions to those involved, and publish our reporting alongside the supporting record.
Our purpose is to give serious concerns a fair hearing—and make the evidence, the responses and the questions that remain accessible to everyone.

How we work
Our work begins with identifiable documents and questions specific enough to receive a meaningful answer. We consider the context, the account of the person raising the concern and the responses from those involved.
- Show the source.
- Identify the document, its date where known, and the relevant passage. Explain what it supports and what it does not establish.
- Represent the answer.
- Include material replies fairly. Distinguish an answer to one question from an answer to another.
- Make the status clear.
- Separate an allegation, an interpretation and an established finding. State when a question was sent before describing it as unanswered.
- Keep the record current.
- Label substantive changes and give corrections appropriate prominence.

Our editions are numbered, dated reading copies, available as a PDF and as web text. They consolidate the reporting; they are not original court-document bundles.
